Biography Charles D. Brockett

Charles Brockett, residing in Atlanta, is a co-founder of UniversalTable/Wising Up Press, dedicated to promoting an appreciation of diversity and finding common ground. He has co-edited anthologies on contemporary issues such as immigration, pluralism in families, and acculturation. With a wealth of experience in teaching political science at both Sewanee: The University of the South and the University of Massachusetts at North Dartmouth, Brockett has also authored two acclaimed books on Central America and multiple social science journal articles. As a recipient of several Fulbright and National Endowment for the Humanities awards, he holds a PhD from UNC-Chapel Hill. Brockett has lived and traveled extensively throughout Latin America, spending significant time in Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Venezuela, Brazil, and Argentina.
