Who is Charles Degelman

Charles Degelman is a renowned writer and editor living in Los Angeles who has made a name for himself in the world of literature. His novel Gates of Eden, recently published by Harvard Square Editions, won a Silver Medal from the 2012 Independent Publishers Book Awards. Following the success of Gates of Eden, Degelman’s second novel, A Bowl Full of Nails, was published by Harvard Square Editions on February 1, 2015 and was a finalist in Barbara Kingsolver’s Bellwether competition, ultimately receiving a Bronze Medal from the 2015 Independent Publishers Book Awards. His most recent novel, Rocked in Time — Confessions of a Radical Theater Artist, completes Degelman’s Resistance Trilogy, transporting readers to the resistance movements of the 1960s and ’70s.

In addition to his novels, Degelman’s impressions of two trips to Cuba have been published in Cuba by Travelers Tales. As a seasoned theater artist, he co-founded the Indecent Exposure Theater Company, a Los Angeles-based theater company dedicated to creating original work for the stage. Furthermore, he is a dedicated educator, teaching writing and media studies at California State University, Los Angeles.

His outstanding work has not gone unnoticed, as he has been recognized with numerous awards and accolades.
