About Shahrukh Husain

Shahrukh Husain, born on April 28, 1950, is the daughter of Prince Ahmed Husain and Sabeeha (Ahmed) Husain. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London in 1979. Husain has a diverse professional background, including lecturing, consulting on TV documentaries, advising members of Parliament on cultural matters, and working as a psychoanalytic psychotherapist specializing in transcultural work. Currently, she is working on a historical screenplay for Bend It Films and completing a series of mythology books for children. Based in London, Husain is best known for her adaptation of “In Custody,” which was nominated for a Best Foreign Film Oscar in 1995 and marked Ismail Merchant’s directorial debut.
